Today was a snow day. The best kind because there was no wind, it was warmish and the thick and wet snow was perfect for snow man building!! Daddy bundled them up first thing and built a giant snowman & a huge snow fort. Thank goodness for daddy bc this pregnant mama has NO ENERGY. Curse you 3rd trimester. Now he's at the store buying me 10lbs of honey crisp apples because its all I crave and the kids are in the basement playing with the train table he's been, sanding and staining the past few weeks. If I could just get them to stop calling each other poopy head it would be perfect.

A Nite With My Boy
When I got home tonite we tried to take a family walk. Despite the blue skies it was deceivingly cold. Wesley was fussy & frustrated because he wanted to ride Mia's bike. He is way too little for it but kept crying "biiiike." We lasted maybe 15 minutes. Mia ended up going with Damon to run errands so Wes & I had some time, just the two of us. I have lots of mama guilt over how rarely this happens. I miss my boy when I don't get to tickle his cheeks and hear him giggle over butterfly kisses. His fussiness passed but he keeps pointing at his mouth saying "medicine?" I think his canines are coming in, poor guy. We shared dinner & watched The Voice. We read books, danced & played with Thomas. The perfect nite with my sweet boy. I love you Wesley David!!

Disney on Ice
My friend Esther called me on Saturday with two extra tickets to Disney on Ice. I was super excited because I had wanted to go, but never quite pulled the trigger on buying the tix. I knew it would be a perfect mother/daughter date. The nite before I told Mia I had a surprise for her. She guessed, A trip to the ice cream store? A new toy? A trip to Disney World? She was sort of close!!!
She loved seeing the characters & kept saying she wanted to give them hugs. She would yell, Hi Barbie, like Barbie was there just for her. Those moments of love and the innocence that shine only from children are my favorite.

Lucky They Are So Cute
Oh, you know. Just a lil pre-date espresso before his cute friend Rory came over!!!! Five minutes ago I told Damon I don't think I can live in Ohio for the rest of my life. The not being able to go outside for four months is a killer. I am SOOOO grumpy. My kids have been out of control. It's one of those hide in the closet & eat 10 cadbury eggs days. Except I'm too cold to leave my house to buy some. Luckily Friday's date night dinner was Matt the Miller chips & chocolate cake. That's it. That's all I ordered. It was perfect!!! American Sniper was sold out:( The next morning on binged on Scandal Season 3 since I had the house all to myself.

Mean the Most
On Sunday, after a weekend filled w countless bowls of ice cream, walks & play dates my girl still wanted more. The story of her life. She begged us to go to Blendon Woods. Damon & I were grumpy & hot, but we did it anyway. When they look back they'll forget the "mommy's over it" face Imade when she asked me to push the swing higher for the 334th time. All they'll remember are these snap shots. A pb&j on a hot day, mama's silly hat, daddy swinging baby brother who has suddenly become petrified of the swings, chubby feet & wild rides down the slide with the monkey her Aunt Brandi got her the day she was born. This is why I blog, take a million pictures & we go even when we're tired. At the end of all our days this will mean the most.

In Summer
Bees'll buzz, kids'll blow dandelion fuzz, and I'll be doing whatever snow does in Summer. Yep. It's still stuck in my head. You have to remember we didn't watch it until the end of April so now our summer days are filled with songs about frozen things..... On Saturday we made it to the pool with the Uncles. Wesley took a few minutes to warm up to the COLD water. By the end of the day he was saying ash-ash (baby for splash). Mia loved the little Splash pad area. That's the most exited I've seen her around water. Ever. It helped that Tony's sweet family totally doted on her. Earlier in the week I knew I ran to Nordstom to see if I could find a cute one piece. I knew I'd be doing a lot of heavy lifting with the kids since Damon would be at work. A one piece keeps the extra baby skin nicely tucked away!!! My suit here. I also got this one. NOT a one piece, for the days I do 20 million sit ups or I go to the pool & do no bending. Or moving. Perfect!!!
Today we met my newest brother, Huck Finn. A 7 week old tri color Corgi. Adorable. Then Mia & daddy took the new Wee Hoo out for it's first test drive. It needs a few more tweaks before we add little brother's seat!!!!
Lost beloved American Apparel Hat here.
This is a $1 replacement from the thrift store.

Our Long Weekend So Far
So far we've filled the weekend with a trip to the farmer's market, lots of walks in the beautiful sunshine & a family ice cream outing. When Mia was little we did the Saturday morning Worthington Farmer's Market almost every weekend. Now that Damon's schedule has changed we haven't gone in a long time. Grandma Tachee came & helped me take the babies to La Chatelaine for breakfast. Mia had requested a tart after watching the queen from Dora in Wonderland refuse to share her tarts w anyone. The whole scenario is very fitting to my 3 old currently. After breakfast we walked the market & stopped to watch the local oldie Americana band. It was heavenly!! Despite their faces Mia & Wesley had an awesome time at our first farmer's market of the season.
Tonite we were stir crazy but Damon got home late so instead of our normal trip to the park we indulged in some Whits. DELICIOUS!!!!! As you can see Mia awas pretty excited for her worm in the dirt! Wesley even had a few bites. His first ice cream. He is wanting to stand & trying to pull up like crazy. His tip toes crack me up. After ice creamI took Mia for a quick walk while daddy put Wes to bed. not pictured the screaming first princess thru when it was time to lay down. I'm sure that its our fault for getting her all sugared up before bed but that doesn't mean I had any more patience to deal with it...Yikes.
To our military & their families, my husband included, thank you for all you do. Enjoy this beautiful, long weekend.
