Wyatt & Grayson: 5 Months Old & a Giveaway with Little Standout

The boys are changing so much!!!! They are both super close to rolling over. We've found both of them on their sides in the rock n plays. Hence project transition to cribs started last Friday. Last nite (Friday) was the first time they slept through from 11-6:30 without me having to get up and put a binky in mulitiple times. The daily schedule usually looks approx like this:
Bottles at 6:30a
Nap 7a-8:30a
9:30a
Nap 10:30a-12p
Bottle 12:30
Nap 2p-4p
Bottle 7p
Bed
Dream feed around 10pm.
At their appointment Wyatt (L) weighed 14.11 lbs and is 25.5 in. Grayson (R) is 14.3 lbs & 25 in. Their heads grew quite a bit making the growth curve a little wonky. The doctor said she wasn't super concerned bc their heads had been very small since birth (normal for twins) so she thinks they are just catching up with their bodies. She also pointed out that Grayson has a Simian Crease, which I had NEVER heard of? Have you? Any thoughts? If you Google, it seems a little scary being linked to some chromosomal abnormalities. The doctor didn't mention anything we should worry about but I've even read it can be linked to autism. Or it could mean absolutely nothing. Trying not to worry and love on these perfect beauties every minute I can!
They are both grasping like crazy and are putting everything in their mouths.I've been obsessed with these Little Standout teethers since I saw them on my friend Planning For Paris Erin's blog!! Not only are the stinking adorable but they are also non-toxic, made of 100% silicone and are free of BPA, PVC, Phthalates, Lead, Cadmium, Metals and all that other yucky stuff you don’t want to see your baby putting into their mouths. I reached out to Little Standout & she sent the twins each a  teether and offered to gift a reader the teether of their choice. Head to my instagram, follow me & leave a comment!! I'll announce the winner Tuesday nite!!!
These chunky monkeys are still getting 3 bottles of breast milk and 3 bottles of formula/day. We switched from regular Enfamil to the Sam's Club generic version and they tolerated it perfectly. Holy savings Batman, its HALF the price! It's funny bc with Mia I NEVER would have even thought about buying generic formula. With Wesley I tried to buy fancy organic formula, but it made him fussy. Baby 3 & 4???? A DIFFERENT STORY FOR SURE!!!
The joy & smiles these two bring to our family is off the charts. The open mouth, gummy baby smiles are golden rays of sunshine that can brighten any day. How, how, how did we get SO LUCKY???

Trying Some New Products with the Twins

1. 4moms mamaRoo baby swing
I'm super interested to see if the babies like the mamaRoo as I've heard a lot of mixed reviews. Some seem to love ot and its a must have while others didn't care for it. Lucky for me a girlfriend offered to let me borrow hers as the price point is substantial. We also have a fisher price swing that MIa lived in 8 hours/day. It was the only thing that stopped her incessant crying. Wes was totally content just being held & snuggled  so he never really used a swing.

2. June and January Knits
Around Christmas time June and January had an AMAZING sale on there simple cotton knits. I got 4 blankets & 6 hats $5/each) for the twins plus this adorable swing dress for Mia. The marigold color is a little orangier than I thought it would be. Kind of wished I'd gotten this beautiful blue. Maybe this Christmas.

3. Milk Snob Multi-use Cover
With twins being kind of a novelty everyone and their brother is going to want to stick their heads in the car seats and blow germs all over my baby! I've been so lucky to get far in my pregnancy but they will still come early and may have slightly compromised immune systems! Can't wait to keep them cozy and out of germs way with these covers. You can also use it as a nursing cover & grocery seat cover. I'll keep you posted!

4. The Ollie Swaddle
I might be most excited about trying these swaddles with the boys. Anything so mom & dad can sleep!! The reviews are amazing!! Stay tuned! We used the Miracle Blanket with Mia , which at the time was an integral part of her night time routine! That being said she didn't sleep through the nite until ten months so we shall see. I only have one swaddle per babe so if they rock I'm hoping to get a few more. If you know anyone who might be selling theirs, hit a mama up!!!!
5. Solly Baby Wrap Carrier
I've always been intimidated by wraps but after seeing so many mama's raving about the Solly I had to order!! I've already watched this tutorial a few times.I know one of the goals of a wrap is to help mama be hands free but I'm imagining with twins I'll never be hands free again. With Wes I used a Becco Butterfly II once he was a little bigger. Damon wore him in it too so hopefully we will be doing more baby wearing just out of necessity!

6.Freshly Picked Moccasins
Both of my kiddos were super late walkers so I was that mom , the one who never had shoes on them?  Whats the point I figured? They are so bulky they don't look like they would be comfy to crawl in plus don't stay on anyway. Now I'm realizing I missed the boat and should have gotten them FP moccs sooner. Mia got her 1st pair at two and loved the crap out of them. This time we are using them before the babies start walking so no one can say my babies don't have shoes!!!

7. City Mini Double Baby Jogger
The double stroller we have know is so heavy and clunky I literally NEVER use it. I really wanted to get something that would be easy to because with the twins a good double is an absolute must have. So I researched and put this super expensive stroller on our registry. Not really thinking we'd get but my amazing friends splurged and totally spoiled us. Supposedly this stroller is the bomb, being super light. fitting thru doorways and just easy to use!!! The only down side is I did not buy the car seat extension so I won't be using it until they are bigger. In the mean time I got a used Baby Trend Snap n Go that another twin mom told me was a life saver for getting out and about w two car seats!!!

So in a few days we will strat trying some of these out and I will hopefully do a follow up post as to what becomes a must have or not!! Wish us LUCK!!!!!!

30 Weeks & a Baby Shower

I'm officially 30 weeks and feeling every bit of 40! My hormones are officially raging, based on the fact I showed the kids the video for "Time of my Life" and bawled when Johnny and Baby did the lift. Mia said, "That's a nice song, the lift is my favorite part!" Pretty sure I cried even harder.
Some days I just want the babies to be here, and others I feel sad that this is my last pregnancy and overwhelmed at the thought of caring for two new babies.
This weekend was our baby shower and it helps take the edge off to know that we are surrounded by the very best family and friends anyone could have. I mean seriously , nobody acted like "dude this is the third shower, really?" Instead they spoiled us totally rotten and celebrated these baby boys like no other. We had a brunch at my parents with quiche and mimosas, which seems to be the norm. All our parties get planned around nap time times you know. Brunch seems to be the winner. Most of our decorations came from Target (duh), the twins balloons and striped table table cloth I ordered from Amazon. This is my 3rd baby shower wearing an outfit from Francesca's!! Total coincidence!! I loved these tops because they were flowy enough to hide 30 week twin poundage but didn't make me look as big as a house!
