Wyatt & Grayson: 11 Months

The babies were officially diagnosed with allergies to peanuts, almonds & cashews. We were advised to avoid all tree nuts as a precaution. I'm having a really hard time with it.  I can't help but read stories like Oakley's and suddenly feel like that could be my child at any moment. I'm not kidding when I tell you everything has peanut in it. I mean seriously, Keebler's Cheddar Crackers, why in god's name do you need to contain peanut flour?  I'm anxiously waiting for the cure  the allergists say IS COMING, in the form of OIT, a patch or maybe even a vaccine! In the mean time we keep our Epi Pens close & pray no well meaning someone gives our a babies a bite of contaminated food. Wyatt (Left) Grayson ( Right)
Grayson has one lonely bottom tooth that has just barely popped through. He learned to wave & always has his hand in his mouth.Wyatt has no teeth & loves worm crawling around the house as fast as possible. I layed him on his Boppy with a bottle, ran down to grab his bro & came up to find him gone. He had crawled into our bedroom & I nearly died from a heart attack seeing the empty Boppy. He loves to lay head to head  & stoke/yank our hair. When he smiles he wrinkles his whole face.
After a bout of sickness they were both back to waking multiple times a nite. After two nites of me blocking them out with my rainy nites white noise on Youtube they are back to mostly sleeping from 6:30 to 5:30am. Grayson is always the first one up. We love playing peek a boo & their gummy happy grins melt this tired mama's heart every day. It's hard to believe we are in first birthday party planning mode already. It takes two to make a thing goooooo right!!

Pool Day

We crossed off another Summer Bucket List item with our play date at the Hilliard pool this week!! Neither of my kiddos has much water experience and Wes especially is very timid. We love this pool bc it has this huge play area that is only about a 2 feet deep. No deeper then you see in these pics!!  It even has two little water slides. Mia loved them, Wes wasn't having it. It was a little more challenging this summer bc Mia wants to float in the lazy river (with her puddle jumper) but Wes was terrified. Luckily my friend Meredith took the girls and I hung w little boy. Sometimes the mamas don't even get to talk on playdates #momlife. As chance would have it Goldfish Swim School reached out this week and I'm so pumped to be working with them. Both kids are going to get some swim lessons and I can't wait to see them waaaaay more confident in the water!! NO more crying when they get the tiniest drop of water on their faces:/

34 Weeks w the Twins

I'm confident in saying 34 weeks (and 3 days) with twins is like 42 weeks with a singleton. I literally can't sit straight up so getting out of bed involves a very unattractive rolling maneuver. I've got three doctors appointments per week that leave me tired and stressed out. I'm up 4-5 times a nite and fear I'll never sleep well again. Because c'mon it only gets worse when the twins arrive right? I'm eating 4-5 honey crisp apples per day. I don't know what's wrong with me, I CAN NOT STOP. Actually I can't stop eating in general. The babies weigh around 5.8  & 5.13 and I'm sure I've gained over 40lbs. I've stopped counting. Frequently asked questions: Yes, I'm still working and no I'm not on bed rest. Lucky for me I make my own schedule so there are def days when I come home early to nap. I've had weekly milestones to make it to 28 weeks, 32 weeks, next up is 35!! Baby A is still breech & B is vertex which means I'm scheduled for a c-section on 3.21 if they don't come before. My birthday is the 20th and Wes' is the 15th. So YAHHHH for all the birthdays in the same week. We were trying for a Fall baby. #fail My husband has been incredible taking on dinner time, bath time, hanging my random nesting projects and keeping my apple supply stocked up! Today is actually the anniversary of our first date. Leap Year Love!!!

28 Weeks w The Twins

Holy Crap.  I'm 7 months pregnant with twins and we finally had our first snow. Wait.... annnnd I've already gained 30 lbs. STOP!!! LOL I'm finally entering the third trimester and it still seems so surreal to say out loud. Identical twin boys. CRAAAAZY.
But I love it and I'm embracing every moment (except the 1st trimester, which can suck it.) I'm buying all the baby hats and wearing leggings & giant tunics everyday. Thank goodness for this adorable pink hat or I'd feel hideous. My biggest craving has been Honey Crisp apples. I literally ate three giant ones yesterday. I also had a girl yell across the hallway of a nursing home, "you look like you're ready to explode." Seriously, she said that to a total stranger!" I probably shouldn't have been so grumpy since its totally true. These Pink Blush maternity leggings are lined w fleece and totally AMAZING!!!   I scored these boots on clearance at Target last week for $30. After holiday clearance is my HEAVEN.

A Goodale Picnic

Pretty much every nite Mia asks to do something special. Yes, I know she's spoiled but we just can't help ourselves. We love these babies too much!!  Most work nites we say "Hanging out at our new house is pretty special." Since its summer & the weather is amazing I've tried to have at least one special something each week. Last Tuesday it was fountains and snow cones at Easton. Tonite it was North Market for macaroons and a picnic at Goodale Park. It only took ten tries to get one pic of us all looking at the camera. Yah for using the stroller as a tripod!

Thrifiting w @MaudieLloyd

Maudie & I met through ig & the #columbusblogggers. You can check out her awesome fashion blog here. This girl is fashion forward & totally adorable. She values high end, classic pieces but loves to add everyday, thrifty finds to her wardrobe. Since she comes from Cali originally she reached out and asked if I could show her some the best thrift stores in Columbus! I said yahoooo, let's go!!!
We started out at the Volunteers of America, 1824 W. Henderson Rd. This is a regular for me. The fact that I go here so often is probably why I like it so much. Being familiar with the layout of the store helps me dig for treasures faster. If I know I'm looking for flare leg denim, I can skip right to women's better denim. This allows me to spend time hunting for exactly what I want.

Tip #1. Thrift Often. I recommend hitting the same store/s at least once a week. This allows you to build familiarity with  the layout AND the staff. People will tell me they never find anything thrifting and in the same breath say they only go once very 6 months. NOT going to cut it.
Next we went across the street to Ohio Thrift, 1881 W. Henderson Rd. This was only my 2nd time at this store but it is quickly becoming one of my favs. They have a HUGE inventory & they organize by size and color. YAH!!! I found a TON of light weight sweaters!

Tip #2. Shop in AND out of season. Don't be afraid to dig for sweaters, pants & winter boots in June. Thrifting has become so popular, everyone is there right now looking for a tanks, shorts & swimsuits. I am not saying don't look, just don't be disappointed if its picked though!! I love finding sweaters for Fall, tucking them & finding them on that first cool day!!!
Tip #3. Don't forget consignment. I know that's not a tip about thrifting but it's important. Thrifting is addicting because ONCE IN WHILE you will hit the jack pot.  Not every time to do you find a gem to really enhance to your wardrobe. If you have a special event/occasion coming up soon you may want to hit a consignment shop first. In Cbus we have several Clothes Mentor locations. I guarantee you will find something you can't leave without, typically from an upscale retsiler like JCREW, Limited, Free People, Nordstrom etc. Almost all of my FAVORITE purses are from Clothes Mentor, at DEEPLY discounted prices.
Now go to Maudie's blog to check out her thrifting tips & sweet style!
