Wyatt & Grayson: 5 Months Old & a Giveaway with Little Standout

The boys are changing so much!!!! They are both super close to rolling over. We've found both of them on their sides in the rock n plays. Hence project transition to cribs started last Friday. Last nite (Friday) was the first time they slept through from 11-6:30 without me having to get up and put a binky in mulitiple times. The daily schedule usually looks approx like this:
Bottles at 6:30a
Nap 7a-8:30a
9:30a
Nap 10:30a-12p
Bottle 12:30
Nap 2p-4p
Bottle 7p
Bed
Dream feed around 10pm.
At their appointment Wyatt (L) weighed 14.11 lbs and is 25.5 in. Grayson (R) is 14.3 lbs & 25 in. Their heads grew quite a bit making the growth curve a little wonky. The doctor said she wasn't super concerned bc their heads had been very small since birth (normal for twins) so she thinks they are just catching up with their bodies. She also pointed out that Grayson has a Simian Crease, which I had NEVER heard of? Have you? Any thoughts? If you Google, it seems a little scary being linked to some chromosomal abnormalities. The doctor didn't mention anything we should worry about but I've even read it can be linked to autism. Or it could mean absolutely nothing. Trying not to worry and love on these perfect beauties every minute I can!
They are both grasping like crazy and are putting everything in their mouths.I've been obsessed with these Little Standout teethers since I saw them on my friend Planning For Paris Erin's blog!! Not only are the stinking adorable but they are also non-toxic, made of 100% silicone and are free of BPA, PVC, Phthalates, Lead, Cadmium, Metals and all that other yucky stuff you don’t want to see your baby putting into their mouths. I reached out to Little Standout & she sent the twins each a  teether and offered to gift a reader the teether of their choice. Head to my instagram, follow me & leave a comment!! I'll announce the winner Tuesday nite!!!
These chunky monkeys are still getting 3 bottles of breast milk and 3 bottles of formula/day. We switched from regular Enfamil to the Sam's Club generic version and they tolerated it perfectly. Holy savings Batman, its HALF the price! It's funny bc with Mia I NEVER would have even thought about buying generic formula. With Wesley I tried to buy fancy organic formula, but it made him fussy. Baby 3 & 4???? A DIFFERENT STORY FOR SURE!!!
The joy & smiles these two bring to our family is off the charts. The open mouth, gummy baby smiles are golden rays of sunshine that can brighten any day. How, how, how did we get SO LUCKY???

Give Me Yo Hand Bro

These adorable dudes had their 4 month shots today. We are behind from when I was sick. So really they are almost 5 months. I've been waiting for them to interact and notice and each other. Just this week Wyatt has been obsessed with grabbing Gray's hand, staring at it & eventually trying to chew on it.  Poor peanuts were perfect while I took these pictures and then lost their minds 2 minutes after. Darn shots. I love these guys so much my heart could explode.
Wyatt: Peas & Gray: Lemons

Trying Some New Products with the Twins

1. 4moms mamaRoo baby swing
I'm super interested to see if the babies like the mamaRoo as I've heard a lot of mixed reviews. Some seem to love ot and its a must have while others didn't care for it. Lucky for me a girlfriend offered to let me borrow hers as the price point is substantial. We also have a fisher price swing that MIa lived in 8 hours/day. It was the only thing that stopped her incessant crying. Wes was totally content just being held & snuggled  so he never really used a swing.

2. June and January Knits
Around Christmas time June and January had an AMAZING sale on there simple cotton knits. I got 4 blankets & 6 hats $5/each) for the twins plus this adorable swing dress for Mia. The marigold color is a little orangier than I thought it would be. Kind of wished I'd gotten this beautiful blue. Maybe this Christmas.

3. Milk Snob Multi-use Cover
With twins being kind of a novelty everyone and their brother is going to want to stick their heads in the car seats and blow germs all over my baby! I've been so lucky to get far in my pregnancy but they will still come early and may have slightly compromised immune systems! Can't wait to keep them cozy and out of germs way with these covers. You can also use it as a nursing cover & grocery seat cover. I'll keep you posted!

4. The Ollie Swaddle
I might be most excited about trying these swaddles with the boys. Anything so mom & dad can sleep!! The reviews are amazing!! Stay tuned! We used the Miracle Blanket with Mia , which at the time was an integral part of her night time routine! That being said she didn't sleep through the nite until ten months so we shall see. I only have one swaddle per babe so if they rock I'm hoping to get a few more. If you know anyone who might be selling theirs, hit a mama up!!!!
5. Solly Baby Wrap Carrier
I've always been intimidated by wraps but after seeing so many mama's raving about the Solly I had to order!! I've already watched this tutorial a few times.I know one of the goals of a wrap is to help mama be hands free but I'm imagining with twins I'll never be hands free again. With Wes I used a Becco Butterfly II once he was a little bigger. Damon wore him in it too so hopefully we will be doing more baby wearing just out of necessity!

6.Freshly Picked Moccasins
Both of my kiddos were super late walkers so I was that mom , the one who never had shoes on them?  Whats the point I figured? They are so bulky they don't look like they would be comfy to crawl in plus don't stay on anyway. Now I'm realizing I missed the boat and should have gotten them FP moccs sooner. Mia got her 1st pair at two and loved the crap out of them. This time we are using them before the babies start walking so no one can say my babies don't have shoes!!!

7. City Mini Double Baby Jogger
The double stroller we have know is so heavy and clunky I literally NEVER use it. I really wanted to get something that would be easy to because with the twins a good double is an absolute must have. So I researched and put this super expensive stroller on our registry. Not really thinking we'd get but my amazing friends splurged and totally spoiled us. Supposedly this stroller is the bomb, being super light. fitting thru doorways and just easy to use!!! The only down side is I did not buy the car seat extension so I won't be using it until they are bigger. In the mean time I got a used Baby Trend Snap n Go that another twin mom told me was a life saver for getting out and about w two car seats!!!

So in a few days we will strat trying some of these out and I will hopefully do a follow up post as to what becomes a must have or not!! Wish us LUCK!!!!!!

Babes in Toyland

Our weekend was super low key. Damon started a new schedule & Wesley is still not sleeping through the nite. I sound like a broken record but damn if sleep deprivation isn't the WORST form of torture.  SOOOO Saturday we played all day inside. Here are my babes with some of their favorite toys from the weekend. Queenie is def the stuffed animal of the week. Probably going to have to give her a haircut to get that band aid out of her fur. #momfail When Mia was drawing I asked if she was drawing circles. She said, "No that's a buffalo, he's eating cake!!" Alrighty then........

She's obsessed with her $3 dragon tail from Target!! Wesley adores Roberto the Robot, fondly named after an episode of Dora.... I would love to splurge on this adorable tee pee, but right now blanket tents rule until we have more space.

Wesley thinks mama is one of his favorite toys! He loves when I sing the Itsy Bitsy spider & Twinkle Twinkle. We tried out our gdiapers with  disposable inserts.  The only catch is before you flush them you have to tear them open. Kind of messy... Here's a video in case you're confused:)  Mia had a little sprinkle snack before taking her Little Tykes unicorn for a spin. I totally recommend these!! They are the coolest indoor riding toy ever & come in super cute characters. I just ordered Gavin & Wesley the panda from Amazon!!!

Mimi Reads

Her current favorites are the Little Critter books by Mercer Mayer.  Thanks Esther & Ada, we love them!!!! The illustrations in these books make them a pleasure to read.  You can't help smile and picture your own lil critter leaving a tornado of chaos behind them.  I laugh out loud when I hear Mia saying Critter quotes like, "I just speed away." Critter's sassy attitude fits my baby perfectly!!!
A friend also got her a Fancy Nancy Collection for her birthday. I thought these might be a little mature for her but she LOVES them.  Just yesterday she asked if we could eat alfresco....lol
Another fav are the beautiful illustrations in Chu's Day by Neil Gaiman. The story  is super simple but each time you read it you find a new animal you didn't see before. Thanks Aunt Moe:)

36 Weeks

This week I found myself in a strange pregnancy limbo.  Feeling so excited to meet our sweet baby boy, anxious & nesting like a mad woman. On the other hand truly wanting to savor the pregnancy, feeling him roll, kick & have little parties in my belly. Savor Mia kissing my belly saying "I wuv you brother."  If me having the insane urge to get up at 2:30am on Saturday nite to do laundry (ummm, unheard of!!!) means anything this (still unnamed) baby could be arriving sooner rather than later..lol I also cleaned out my side of or bedroom closet & the shoe closet.  Sadly the amount of cleaning & organizing I've done is minimal to the amount of shopping. Shopping=Nesting at our house.  Please come quick baby brother or mama might spend the family fortune:/

Sunday morning after my weird cleaning/nesting session I woke up with this intense ache/burn in my lower back & hips.  It got to the point where I was waddling & struggling to walk up & down the stairs. I did not have this w Mia at all. At my weekly check up on Monday I thought for sure the nurse practitioner would say it's a sign of impending labor. Instead she suggested a visit to the chiropractor.  So I did just that & had my 1st ever adjustment today. As soon as I got off the table the waddle was gone.  My sacro iliac is back in tune, for now:) I'm still sore but def moving forward as opposed to the lovely fat lady waddle.

My appt w the high risk Dr. who manages my diabetes was not so great.  The growth scan suggested the baby gained 2 lbs in 3.5 weeks, which he termed excessive. It's all that damned Valentines candy. Hide it from the pregnant lady people!!!! Baby boy measured approx 6lbs 2oz, putting him in the 72% for 35.5 weeks gestation.  I am now required to make weekly hospital visits for fetal monitoring, on top of weekly visits to the regular OB. It's hard to remain stress free let me tell you. All I can picture is a 10lb baby. Enough said!!!

A few nesting splurges. The Beco Butterfly 2, thanks Mom!!!  This sweet Dwell Studio fox blankie. I'm not gna lie I have a serious blanket fetish (this is not just limited to baby blankets!).

Binky Free: Night One

Bye Bye binky, hello Blabla doll!!! Thats's the motto in our house this weekend.  When Mia came home from the hospital we literally had no binky's. Fast forward to her one week check & her pediatrician took one look at us & said yo need to pacify that baby. I distinctly remeber leaving her w Damon & racing off to Target for as many MAMs as I could find!!! She still didnt stop screaming for about ....ohhhh 4 MONTHS!!!!! Finally at 10 months she started sleeping like a champion.  She only had her binky during car rides, naptime & bedtime. A few months ago we took it away during car rides. It was rough. She's never liked riding in the car to begin with. There was a serious week of screaming & whining every trip!!
All this week we've been preparing her for no more binky. She LOVES looking at the moon & stars, so we've been telling her binky is going to the moon. Random, I know. Today Gma Tachee & I took her on a special mission to Sprout Soup. I got her out of the car and standing on the side walk knelt down on her level, grabbed her hands & said "Mimi, tonite binky is going to live at the moon, but you can pick out a special toy to sleep with in your crib." She said, "Look mama, a bird." lol I don't think she got it!!!!  So Hercule the Elephant came to live with us!!! I tried really hard to get her to choose Prudence the Owl but she was smitten with Hercule:) Gma Tachee splurged & we got Bamboo the Bear for brother, too!!!  I hate to jinx us but after one minute of emphatically repeating "I WANT ONE BINKY," she went to sleep without a hitch. We shall see how long that lasts!!!
