5 Years Ago Today....

I was making a life long dream come true. No lie!! One of the best days ever!!!! Put Stonehenge on your bucket list if it's not already!!!   Maybe a Jack the Ripper night tour & a visit to the quaint, super old town of Bath!!! Amazeballs. Take me back soooooon!!!

Zoo Day

Friday we took advantage of the BEAUTIFUL weather & spent a few hours at the zoo w my most favorite people.  I think I have some kind of zoo curse that prevents me from actually seeing any animals but we did almost see the polar bears swimming (my dream).
Mia & Gavin are the coolest. Wesley slept the whole trip while Daddy pushed the giant double stroller so I could chat with my bff.  A happy day...

Green Jeans & Green Drinks

I have a confession. I like the band wagon. I'm slooooow to jump on but, I admit it. I like it up there!!  Two trends I crave right this minute are, YuMMy Green Drinks ANNNND, drum roll, no eye roll , please, COLORED JEANS. Yes they were super popular in 8th grade & NO i didn't have a pair. The closest I came was a pair of white Levis. Yet, the attraction has always been there. TRUE STORY, I saw a girl wearing green jeans in my 9th grade Algebra class & immediately knew I wanted to be be her friend. Fast forward 17 years later I can promise you she will not be jumping on the colored jean band wagon BUT I hope she gets a little nolstagic as I bust out my new pink bisou bisous, a sweet $4 thrift store find!!! Love you Ber Ber.

Ok, back to the Green Drinks.  Red Velvet cupcakes are my current obsession so this recipe from THE DIVA DISH (who I LOVE) looks super yummy. She has an AWESOME post on Green Drinks here!!

        Red Velvet Smoothie

1 C. non dairy milk

1 medium beet peeled, steamed, and chopped

1/3 c. frozen raspberries, cherries, or strawberries

1 frozen banana

4 TB. cocoa powder

4 pitted dates

1 TB. chia seeds

2 tsp. sweetener of choice

1 tsp. vanilla

Weekend Fun Times

 1. I got some yummy Kale at the Farmer's Market & tried my hand at Kale Chips. YUM!!
***Break kale into bite size pieces.  Toss in Olive Oil. Sprinkle with  Parmesan cheese & sea salt. Bake at 400 degrees for 7 minutes. I stirred the chips half way to prevent burning!!

2. Breakfast, Peonies & Kisses at the Farmers Market. Polka Dot Silk Tank Franchescas, Sunnies H&M. 3. Play Date with Gavin. 4. Working on Mia's First Year Shutterfly book!!

Skating

Today was FUN.. So glad we resisted the urge to hunker down after last nites snow storm!! Damon made it easy to get out by scraping my car!! Thanks Baby. We went to Celeste's 10th birthday at a ROLLER RINK!!!! So glad Brandi said we should skate. I hadn't roller skated since I was 10, living in our Lancaster house with the half cement basement where I skated for hours to the Madonna Living on a Prayer Album!! My little cutie is snug as a bug in bed & I'm enjoying dessert. LIFE IS GOOD.

Love Them

We took Brandi out for a belated birthday celebration last night. We had some yummy Fruit Stripe drinks and sushi. I still hold to the fact that Haiku is the BEST sushi in the city. After dinner we went to Park Street Patio for T-Nizzle's bday.

I bought Brandi the Domino Decor book. She was super excited.
I hope to make these yummy cookies for Damon & he will be super excited too:)

The same day Damon had surgery, my Brandi had a nasty surgery on her foot to shorten tendons and ligaments. So tonight I am thinking of her. The BEST FRIEND EVER...

Last night was our engagement party. My parents and my Brandi threw an awesome bash!!!

Brandi made Friday just a little sweeter with this yummy cookie from our FAVORITE, Mrs. Goodmans. She also got vanilla, key lime, strawberry & lemon cupcakes..AND a german chocolate brownie!! I think I am rubbing off on her!

Tonite a group of us are going to Little Bear so Brandi can get a feel for the wedding site. She is the Official wedding planner having the final say on all color & decor choices. Little Bear has a friday nite happy hour with live music. WOOT!!! Damon has tonite & tomorrow nite (our engagement party) off DOUBLE WOOT!!

ups & downs

This was kind of a weird weekend. I want to say it was great, but there were two things that kind of sucked. ALOT. My dad was admitted to the hospital on Friday nite for a pretty serious infection. After some iv antibiotics he is doing much better, although still not released. Second crappo thing. We lost one of our biggest clients. After working with the family for three years to see them leave us sucks. Seriously....

So my dad is MUCH better, reading a book called Bliss. Our company is NOT built on only one client, but over 100. New opportunities will arise everyday. I will learn from my missteps & be ready to do better tomorrow.Why this weekend actually didn't suck?? On Friday d & i snuggled, watching Eagle Eye & & planning our Caribbean cruise for May..YIIIPPPPPEEE!!! Saturday we started getting ready for Kristen's baby shower. We cleaned, shopped & started crafting. Everything turned out so beautiful. Brandi made the CUTEST diaper cake EVER!!! Look at the little baby shoes! Love it. I made a banner using my Cricut 7 a tissue paper wreath (i found the idea here). We had good food, & so much laughing. After Kristen opened her gifts we went to see baby Nathan's nursery.

So YEAH some things are sucky, but mostly there is sunshine, laughter & lots of love around here.....

california dreaming

For a month now Brandi has been wishing for San Francisco. Her google talk quote was " i left my heart in San Francisco," for 2 weeks. The significance ?? She changes her quote, like every day! To celebrate the posting of her very FIRST BLOG entry, this post is for her.

For our 26th birthdays (2006) we celebrated with a trip to San Francisco (thanks dad!).

We stayed right in the middle of Union Square. We ate dim sum after exploring Chinatown for 5 hours. We found a french bakery & had yummy Napoleons.

Every morning we walked to the Starbux across from our hotel. We found the Grateful Dead's crash pad at Haight & Ashbury. We celebrated St. Patty's Day. We saw the guy with the bush at Fisherman's wharf.

We took a 1/2 day winery tour thru Sonoma Valley. We find a CCR loving German in Healdsburg. We saw the GIANT Sequoias in Muir Woods. We heard bongos in Golden Gate Park. We bought large amounts of Tye dye.

We celebrated my actual bday at Les Joulins jazz club. We drank large quantities of Champane while being serenaded with "ain't no sunshine" & songs dedicated to the "birthday woman.

We stayed up until 5am. We slept until 5pm, then ate a whole pizza & cheesy fries. Then we flew home.

i love you ber ber, & can't wait to do it again!!!
