Curing a Grump

When I got home from work, Mia had just gotten up from her nap and she was GRUMPY!!!  We tried to read her new Clifford book but only Wesley seemed to enjoy it.  SOOO,  I let her stick her fingers in the coconut peanut butter jar.  It worked. She was perfect the rest of the night:)  Growing up is hard work so let them be little as much as you can!!!!!

Mimi Reads

Her current favorites are the Little Critter books by Mercer Mayer.  Thanks Esther & Ada, we love them!!!! The illustrations in these books make them a pleasure to read.  You can't help smile and picture your own lil critter leaving a tornado of chaos behind them.  I laugh out loud when I hear Mia saying Critter quotes like, "I just speed away." Critter's sassy attitude fits my baby perfectly!!!

A friend also got her a Fancy Nancy Collection for her birthday. I thought these might be a little mature for her but she LOVES them.  Just yesterday she asked if we could eat alfresco....lol
Another fav are the beautiful illustrations in Chu's Day by Neil Gaiman. The story  is super simple but each time you read it you find a new animal you didn't see before. Thanks Aunt Moe:)

Ace Ventura Jr.

Mia's collection of Eric Carle books has grown to 3, Polar Bear, Baby Bear & Brown Bear.  Her obsession for one particular animal cracks me up.

A recent conversation (yes, she is smart enough to have conversations!!!!) went like this:

Mia : Mama, McDonald? Mule Deer?
Me: Ok baby... Old McDonald had a farm eeeiiieeeiiooo. On this farm he had a .....mule deer???  eeeiiiieeeiiiioooo???? with a  (insert the noise i created just for this animal here)....
Me: repeat 100 times over the next few days...
Occasionally she throws in, McDonald, Kunk?  Mostly, mule deer for the win.

Conversation w daddy tonite.

Daddy: aaarrrgh...groaning bc he's stiff/sore.
Mia: Daddy, mule deer?

Hahahaha  I may have to work on my animal noises!!!!!!

Best Star Wars Book EVER

My sister in law is the Queen of finding awesome books for the Belle!!! Her most recent find is the GREATEST yet, Darth Vader & Son by Jeffrey Brown.   The most Awesome Star Wars book EVER!!!! The perfect combination of Adorable & hilarious!!!  Look how baby Leia dresses Luke's dolls...hahahahaha  Want it????

Sweet

Mia's Gma bought her the super sweet book Wherever You Are My Love Will Find You. The sentiments are so loving & the illustrations beautiful!!  I would like to have the  whole collection!!  Kohls has the books on sale for $5 as part of their Kohls Cares for Kids program.  It hurts me to pay more then $1 (Once Upon a Child) for a kids book but we may have to splurge!!!
