Circus Birthday Party

Mia's first birthday party was a smashing success. Thanks to friends & family everything was perfect & stress free. Even the birthday girl cooperated, taking a 2.5 hour nap before the party. She was all smiles the whole day.   The color palette was robin egg blue, primary red, sunshine yellow, bubble gum pink & white.  Inspiration HERE. Yarn Puff tutorial Here. They were SOOOOO EASY!!
We created a semi-photo booth by covering ply wood with this cute sheet I found at Goodwill. The circus inspiration came from these masks from the $1 spot at Michaels. Since there were lots of kids around the age of 1 we created a kid friendly are with rocking toys, giant bouncy balls from Wal-Mart & books to keep them entertained. Mia's cake was of course from Mrs. Goodmans, based on this Pinterest pic. This was the FIRST time she has had anything as sugary as cake. SHe didn't go too crazy, just kind of smearing the icing around with her hands:) I was secretly excited to eat the left overs if she didn't mangle it too badly!!! P.S She didn't!!!!
Thanks again to Aunt Lori & Linda for all the help & the yummy Lemonade cupcakes!! To Nana Marcie for getting Mia Ready, To Brandi for helping keep me calm at Walmart, to my mom & Allison for helping set everything up. My dad for all the pics & video. To Damon's mom, Don & Ricky for coming into town to be us!! To Moe & Carrie for documenting the day. And To Everyone who came to celebrate with us THANK YOU for making Mia's 1st birthday so special. We love you!!!!

Birthday Celebration

We spent last weekend in Cincinnati to celebrate Damon's birthday. We started with a
B&B River Boats cruise thru downtown. It was exactly like an eighties prom! Picture scenes from the Wedding Singer! A must do...

Next we checked out the Newport Aquarium where we hung out with these guys. Definitely go to Newport on the Levee for restaurants, shopping and entertainment.

Finally, we met 8 of our friends & family to watch the Reds beat St. Louis. I thought we were playing Milwaukee the whole time. OOPPSIE.. Definitely the coldest baseball game I've ever been to. Damon says that's what i get for buying tickets for the last regular game of the season. I stayed warm with three sweaters and lots of cracker jacks. Our prize was a game, Who is this a picture of. I thought it was it was Luke Skywalker but it was really Ben Franklin.

Love you baby! Hope you had a great birthday celebration. Thanks to Bryan, Barb, Mom, Dad, Brandi, Brent, Lara & Jimmy!
