Happy Birthday Wesley!

Happiest 3rd Birthday to my beautiful sunshine boy!!!! You're a total ham and make us laugh everyday, You're amazingly smart and people can't believe how well you communicate. You love Star Wars, legos, superheroes and music. You've taken to wearing a Super Man cape around the house. It melts my heart when you insist on wearing a hat, especially when you put your Yankees ball cap on. No prompting, just your personality coming through. You usually sleep with tiny Thomas the Train figures. You love to have dance parties to the Ghostbuster's theme song or Do You Love Me by The Contours. I would love to get you guitar lessons at some point because I feel like you truly love music. Tonite it was storming and you were afraid of the thunder. I told you it was just Thor in the sky using his hammer. You kept saying, "Mama I hear him, I hear Thor!!"

From two years to three it wasn't all sweetness. You torture your sister relentlessly. You throw tantrums to get your way. You love to say naughty words to get our attention. You've punched, kicked and spit. There are days when you say, "You don't need babies in your belly." Then there are my favorite moments when you tell me you are going to feed the babies and play with them. I know its going to be a hard transition going from mama's boy, the baby, to the middle child. Please always know that you're my first baby boy. You stole my heart the day you were born and we will always have that special bond. I LOVE YOU Wesley Crush!!!

A Nite With My Boy

When I got home tonite we tried to take a family walk. Despite the blue skies it was deceivingly cold. Wesley was fussy & frustrated because he wanted to ride Mia's bike. He is way too little for it but kept crying "biiiike." We lasted maybe 15 minutes.  Mia ended up going with Damon to run errands so Wes & I had some time, just the two of us. I have lots of mama guilt over how rarely this happens. I miss my boy when I don't get to tickle his cheeks and hear him giggle over butterfly kisses. His fussiness passed but he keeps pointing at his mouth saying "medicine?" I think his canines are coming in, poor guy. We shared dinner & watched The Voice. We read books, danced & played with Thomas. The perfect nite with my sweet boy. I love you Wesley David!!

Happy 2nd Birthday Wesley David

My Sweetest Boy,
From the moment you were born you've been a constant joy. Your  loving nature brightens our days. Hugs, snuggles, & lots of I Luh Yous!!! You are counting to ten & singing the ABCs. You want to do everything your big sister does. Including throwing tantrums, eating dried mangoes & lots of coloring.

You constantly make us laugh, toddling around singing Let It Go or demanding to push your mini vacuum around. You weigh 25 lbs wear 24 months/2t & a size 7 shoe. You say please, thank you & sorry after you've slapped someone in the face or bitten your sister!!!! You had a blast celebrating your birthday. You finally got to watch Planes Fire & Rescue with your beloved Dusty Crophopper. We had balloons & dinner with Grandma & Grandpa. It was perfect.

I loved watching you love the day.

My Sunshine Boy

There is nothing that makes the challenges of being a mom more worth it then my baby boy looking at me & totally unprompted saying "Mom, I luh you." Is there anything sweeter than the love of a 21 month old? He pretty much always has some sort of vehicle with him. Planes, trains, automobiles, he's obsessed. I melt into an Olaf puddle when he says ohh christmas tree in his lispy little boy voice. 

Around here we are working soooo hard to find a new home & seriously thinking about having one more baby. Life changing, take your breath away, anxiety inducing things coming in 2015. WE CAN"T WAIT!!!!

Wesley Crush:18 Months

You love to look out our back window & yell "Kack, Kack," at the ducks.You call Mia "sissy'" with the sweetest baby lisp. Anytime you hear a plane stop dead in your tracks, point to the sky and say "air pane, air pane." I remember Mia u doing the same thing.You want to to do everything she does & more. Mimicking her every move & demanding to have the same things she's eating and drinking. You're starting to shriek & throw tantrums when you can't have something you want.
You only have 6 teeth 3 on top, 3 on the bottom. Slowest teether EVER. Luckily it hasn't made you super fussy. You weigh 22 lbs 5 oz  & are 32 inches long. You're staying the course at 25%.

You little boy are continuing to prove how much you love to climb...ON EVERYTHING!!!! We finally had to move our little art studio bc you insisted on climbing on top of it while smearing paints all over your body. Obsessed with belly buttons. the minute your shirt is off you point at his and starts giggling!! You can point to his eyes, nose, mouth, hair & head. You LOVE the lift & see Karen Katz books.

On the subject of walking. In just one month you've developed so much more confidence in standing & cruising along the furniture. Occasionally you'll pull your hands free and just be standing, steady on your feet. I don't even think you even realize it. Maybe it's the 2nd time mom in me, but I'm not super worried. I know you'll walk eventually. Until then you'll just be mama's boy (& daddy's for that matter) a little longer.

Wesley Crush: 16 Month Update

This month was hard. We tried to have you share a room with Mia but it was a disaster. The 1st night you screamed all night unless i was holding you. Mia ended up in bed with daddy. I laid with you in her toddler bed totally squished until you finally fell asleep. I laid on the floor next to you & was pretty much up all nite. It was awesome.  That pretty much sums up the entire month. Lots of screaming shrieking & general mayhem from both you & your sister. It just may have solidified us as a family of four & no more.
You are officially cruising all around the house pushing buttons on the cable box, squishing your fingers in drawers & trying desperately to reach the front door knob. You are going to be our climbing baby. You've already tried to climb out of your crib, and actually fell totally out. Luckily you weren't hurt!!!!

 You've definitely gotten an attitude this month. Squirming away during diaper changes, screaming if we don't give you your food fast enough & swatting things away if you're annoyed. You say all kinds of cute things like naughty, sissy & ohhh no. You make us laugh everyday.

Wesley Crush: 14 Months

Hello Handsome!!!! For a long time Mia was the only one calling you Wes. Now we all are! The Itsy Bitsy Spider has FINALLY been replaced as your fav song by the ABC's. You sing along & its adorable.  You're crawling form resembles Michael Phelps' Olympic caliber breast stroke. All you need is a baby speedo & some goggles. You do occasionally rock onto your knees but usually go back to swiming. This month you learned to push yourself into a sitting position. You surprised me when I found you sitting up,staring at me from  your crib. I don't remember this milestone with Mia but its one of my favorites. I love to find you sitting up in a corner "reading" books or playing w Mia's Legos.

Daddy is teaching you to sing the Batman theme. You say "aat-man." I need to get your little sing songy baby voice on video!!! You also love to say hat & put whatever your holding on your head. You have your hands in your mouth constantly now that your 2 top teeth are just starting to peek through the  gums. When we take you the park your favorite thing to do is eat mulch & shove dirt,by the handful into your mouth. I've never seen a baby take so much pleasure in eating dirt.

This month you also went down to just one nap. Its gone well! You usually take an almost 3 hour nap from 10-1 & then bed by 7pm.  Sleeping great through the nite. Not sure what this face is all about. It's new & I love it. Everyday we see more & more of your spunky little boy personality coming through. You are truly a delight Wesley David!!!
