Listening to: Tom Petty's XM show Buried Treasure. Breakdown was on & the first line totally made me think about social media. I was posting a selfie. I know people have a love /hate relationship with them. I almost didn't post it & then I heard,  It's all right if you love me, it's all right if you don't. Thanks for the reminder Tom:)   Super excited for the Gin Blossoms FREE concert at Columbus Commons on Thursday August 21st!!!!!!

Reading: Wonder - I haven't started it yet, but I'll keep you posted!.

Watching: Breaking Bad Season I. Thank you streaming Netflix. Yes, I'm very late to the party & I already googled how it ends. I always read the last page first, I can't stand the suspense.

Buying: Make Up from Ulta Lips: Lorac Flower Child, super matte stays on almost as well as Nars!! Also splurged on the Urban Decay Naked II palette once I realized I've had some of my current eye shadows for 15 years!!!!!

Craving: Have you been to Nothing Bundt Cake in Dublin? Super close to my fav Matt The Miller, you'll find the most delicious, moist bundts ever!!!  Every flavor I've tried is addicting. I can't even pick a favorite. Cinnamon, chocolate & lemon perhaps?? GO NOW!!!

What She's Doing Now

Reading: Keith Richard's book Life. I'm obsessed with musical biographies. Would love to own this one.

Listening: I heard this song on the radio driving to work yesterday & loved it. Is the whole album good?  Did anybody notice my catchy title was a tribute to Garth Brooks? He's coming back on tour & I'm excited. I got into country music after he retired & never saw a Garth concert. Excited to fix that. No sneering non country lovers, he's a classic.

Watching: Just finished the 1st Season of American Horror Story on netflix. Also watching Season 3 AHS Coven. Our netflix account had been disconnected for awhile bc I lost my debit card & never updated the pmt info. Shocking I know. So excited to have it streaming again. Need to catch on Vampire Diaries, Homeland, & start Breaking Bad. When we aren't watching Dora of course.

Drinking: Sofia Coppola's Sparkling wines. Had a white at my dad's bday dinner & it was delish. He & my hubby drank some crazy Courvoisier.

Excited About: Damon booked our kid free Vegas getaway for this Spring. He promised he will take me to Love while we're there. Maybe we'll drive out to Zion again??

Trying: Lush Ocean Salt Scrub. These age spots are for the birds!!!!

Needing: Last minute Christmas Gifts. Seriously how cute would it be to customize a memory game w your favorite photos. Sadly I've forced myself to stop buying for my kids.  It's my parents & friends who I should be shopping for.

1. Beats by Dr. Dre please. Or some other cute colored ear phones, to drown out the noise!! I've never been a fan of the ear buds. Old school please!!
2. Barnes & Noble gift card. They deserve my $$$ after Mia threw herself on the ground in front of the exit & refused to leave on Saturday. This would be one of the 1st things I'd get.
3. This 1950's vintage dress would be perfect on New Year's with the faux fur bolero I scored at the thrift store!!! I'm imaging the New Year's scene from The Notebook. You know the one:)
4. This Nikon d300s is totally too much camera for me but "Everybody come to Hollywood got a dream. What's your dream? HEY, whats your dream?" Anyone?
5. Damon, saw this necklace & asked if I was on the Titanic. Every girl needs her own a heart of the ocean, right?

A French Post..sort of.

So I finished the Fifty Shades trilogy. It was comme ci comme ca!! Next up The Sweet Life in Paris which i borrowed from my mom. She's also staying with me this week (BEST MOM EVER) while my husband is enjoying man time in Las Vegas.  C'est la Vie.

P.S We have an alarm and a ferocious Chihuahua.

Best Star Wars Book EVER

My sister in law is the Queen of finding awesome books for the Belle!!! Her most recent find is the GREATEST yet, Darth Vader & Son by Jeffrey Brown.   The most Awesome Star Wars book EVER!!!! The perfect combination of Adorable & hilarious!!!  Look how baby Leia dresses Luke's dolls...hahahahaha  Want it????

Books for Babes

Mia got tons of new books for her birthday. We've spent lots of time this weekend snuggled up, discovering her new favorites.  Two must haves are the super sweet, wonderfully illustrated, A Good Day by Kevin Henkes. The other silly, Blue Hat, Green Hat by Sandra Boynton (Mia also loves her book Moo Baa LaLa) .  How did my baby learn how to laugh at the appropriate place & say hat, all in one weekend?

I miss (1990's) going to Waldenbooks to find the newest Christoper Pike book. Coming home, spending the rest of the day & night finishing it!!! Don't forget Witch & The Last Vampire. R.L Stine was a close runner up as my favorite author in the early 90's. Those were the days:)

Wish I was a Carny

I ADORE stories of the old time circuses. I hope to read Water For Elephants before I see the movie. I think I have mentioned Dean Koontz's book Twilight Eyes (1985 baby!!)as being one of my favorites. It's based around a traveling circus too...Remember the Bones episode where Booth & Brennan join the circus?

What's happening hot stuff?

D & I went on a Barnes and Noble date last night (HOT , I Know!) I found a really cute book by Molly Ringwald. LOVE HER! To be clear, it is not a biography. More like a Bad Girl's Guide to Everything! Fashion, beauty and just general life tips, sprinkled with laugh out loud stories that any, mom, daughter, wife, girl can relate to. I especially liked when her Greek mother in law bought her 8 year old daughter a T-shirt w/ pictures of "stoned cat" & "horny cat" on it.

Read Me

While on vacation I read four books. The best by far was the The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. It took quite a while for the Lisbeth Salander character to be developed. Once she is your HOOKED! Prepare to be a little disturbed by some fairly violent scenes. If you make it through the story keeps you dying to know"Who done it?" I liked it so much I grabbed the sequel The Girl Who Played With Fire, I'm half way through and intrigued.

After a great work out with my mom this morning we met my dad for food at Panera. He has been reading Jack Kerouac. He insists the best book of all time could very well be Desolation Angels.

He also tossed out a GREAT Winston Churchill quote!

Barnes & Noble

I love our trips to browse through the books and magazines at Barnes & Noble. We usually get yummy snack from Starbucks. I always learn so much from these trips.

1. The happier side of the brain is the left side. So give your lover kisses on his Right side and he will enjoy them even more b/c they will be processed by the HAPPY side of his brain.
2. Virgos do not usually react well to prescription medication (this has proven SO true for D). They do much better with homeopathic remedies.

We each came home with a book from the $5 bin.

Love Triangle

George Harrison, Eric Clapton & Pattie Boyd. One of the best music love triangles ever!!! Wonderful Tonight, Pattie's autobiography is filled to the brim with behind the scenes stories of The Beatles & Clapton.. Being passionate about music, hearing the drama that lent the lyrics to songs like Layla, Wonderful Tonight and Something was amazing. I LOVED this book!

library run

I spent the morning cleaning for another showing...Eventually I mopped myself out the front door & headed to the library. My current fines are up to $6.80!!!

I spent the afternoon reading this SUPER cute Emily Giffin book!!! Lipstick Jungle is next. I need to give my eyeballs a break from reading, so i'm cuing up some Top Chef Masters. I made some Velveeta Shells & cheese for dinner.

Me: I hope I don't die from eating this macaroni.

D: Why would you die?

Me: It expired in august 2009...

D: Ummmmm???

In exactly 2 months The Time Traveler's Wife comes out. I CANNOT wait. I think i am expecting another The Notebook..Which means I could be setting myself up for a huge disappointment. I mean, did you see the chemistry between McAdams and Gosling. AMAZING!!!

I have the book on reserve at the library. I'm ashamed to say i never read The Notebook. Yeah for August 14th.

popcorn & m&m's

I watched Benjamin Button last nite. I thought it was so sweet. I am definitely gong to read the book (wish i had read it first!). I am a huge Forrest Gump fan & it was very neat to see the similarities between the two. Forrest is still the winner but Benjamin did not disappoint. The movie also reminds me of the Green Mile, which you MUST read with a box of tissues. Skip the movie! Remember the popcorn & M&M's, my favorite movie/book snacks!
