Happy 2nd Birthday Wesley David

My Sweetest Boy,
From the moment you were born you've been a constant joy. Your  loving nature brightens our days. Hugs, snuggles, & lots of I Luh Yous!!! You are counting to ten & singing the ABCs. You want to do everything your big sister does. Including throwing tantrums, eating dried mangoes & lots of coloring.

You constantly make us laugh, toddling around singing Let It Go or demanding to push your mini vacuum around. You weigh 25 lbs wear 24 months/2t & a size 7 shoe. You say please, thank you & sorry after you've slapped someone in the face or bitten your sister!!!! You had a blast celebrating your birthday. You finally got to watch Planes Fire & Rescue with your beloved Dusty Crophopper. We had balloons & dinner with Grandma & Grandpa. It was perfect.

I loved watching you love the day.

Wesley Crush: 7 Months

You slept through the nite everyday this month!!!! You rock!!! Usually from 7pm-6am.  I love to see you rolled on your little side!  We haven't started any solids yet. I'm actually shooting for this week:)  Several times this month you threw up your whole 6 oz bottle just before bed. I think its bc there usually isn't a full 3 hours between the afternoon & bed time feeding. That tiny tummy just can't hold all so much milk.  It's been a few days since you've excorcisted us, maybe it's over....ugh! Drinking around 5-7 ozs every 3 hours from Dr. Brown bottles.

When you try and talk to us you have this really high pitched noise that sounds like a velociraptor , but you do it w the biggest smile!!! I MUST get the video camera out!!! Most of your fancy outfits are 9 months.  Jammies are 12 months!!! Diapers size 3.  You will stop anything you're doing if you hear The ITSY BITSY SPIDER!! Even Mia knows that is your FAVORITE song!!

Last nite we went to Pigeon Roost to pick pumpkins. Daddy put you in the swing for the very 1st time!!! You had a ball:)  At your 6 month check the Dr. heard a slight heart murmur. This is very common, but erring on the side of caution she sent us to a cardiologist. You had an EKG that took several years off Mommy & Daddy's lives. Everything came back perfect!! The Dr. said just forget about it, perfectly normal!!!! THANK GOODNESS. In true Crushy form you were chill through the whole thing.

This is the 1st month you have shown any interest in moving around. You roll proficiently from back to belly to grab toys that you want. You have never gone from belly to back. You can sit unsupported form 5-30 seconds depending on your interest level.  As a 1st time mom I was eager for your sister to hit all the milestones as quickly as possible. With you, I find myself happy that you seem to be taking your time. Stay my little as long as possible sweet baby!!!

Wesley Crush: 6 Months

My Precious Boy,
The time has come and gone when all the baby gurus said you should be rolling over.  Last weekend when Esther & baby R were here you rolled from back to tummy just to show off. I am pretty certain if you really wanted you'd be rolling like a maniac. The thing is Wesley Crush, you aren't a maniac. You're simply content to take it all in. You live to be loved on, hugged, squeezed and smooched. I promise you there is no shortage of this!!!  PS Since I wrote this you rolled over twice in a row to grab some toy ice cream! A man after my own ice cream loving heart!!!

You have been on straight formula for a month now & usually take 6 ozs every 3-4 hours.  We finally kicked you out of our bedroom & everyone is sleeping better:) Typically you go down around 7pm, up at 3am for a bottle and then sleep til 7am. You had your 1st over nite with Tachee & Pop Pop this month:)

You took your 1st trip to the North Market with Mom, Mims, Pop Pop & Tachee. You constantly babble and make a ma, ma, ma noise. It  sounds like you are saying mama!! I''m fine with telling everyone that was your 1st word:) You also figured out how to make raspberries. Mia loves to exclaim over your new trick, mom he blew a raspberry!!! You wear 6-9 month clothes & weigh in at 15 lbs 13oz. On occasion something pisses you off, then you have a shriek that could break 1000 glass ceilings:(

Take your time growing up little boy. Mama & Daddy will always be here to encourage and support you. Never comparing or forcing competition between you & your sister. She's our wild thundery rainstorm while you're our gentle breeze, sunshine boy. That is just the way we like it!!!

A Mama's Life

Between the massive headache I have from Mia beaming me in the head with a golf ball & Wesley exorcist style puking all over me at 3:30 this morning, I'm pretty sure my kids are trying to kill me.  HAPPY MONDAY!!!!!

You Are My Sunshine & My Busted Eardrums

Saturday afternoon we made a valiant effort to head to the Union County Balloon Festival.  The kids were being high maintenance (what's new) and the amount of crap we needed to haul was immense.  I think Damon was traumatized from Mia's 1st balloon festival. She SHRIEKED for the entire 40 minutes home. We debated tossing her out the window at one point. The straw that broke the camels back was the waaaaay late bedtime that was looming if we stayed to see the balloons glow at dusk.  We decided we love our kids too much to let them torture us to the point of insanity. So we stayed home. Sometimes you just have to give up. We took a walk instead.

Even our easy walk around the block had a few dramatic moments. Wesley started SCREAMING and never one to be out done, Mia threw a royal fit!!!  As they are both wailing, a nice man with quiet babies in a jogging stroller goes by. He looked startled when I shouted, wanna trade?

Crush: 5 Months

This month you lost the title of Best Baby Ever & became Worlds Worst Sleeper. Stupid 4 month sleep regression, i want to punch you in the face!!  You go to bed around 7pm and sleep until midnight. Then its a crap shoot. You might be up once or 6 times. Last weekend you literally were up all nite Thursday, Friday & Saturday. I thought I might die!!   Somehow, despite lack of sleep you manage to maintain (mostly) a sunny disposition.

Not only are you not sleeping well at night, daytime naps are pretty much none existent. We try and lay you down 3-4xs day. The average time you rest is about 30 min.  We've tried everything, swaddling both arms, one arm, no arms. Binkies, noise machines, blankets, no blankets etc.

The biggest change this month has been the introduction of formula. We are just supplementing but  I really wanted to go organic, so we chose Baby's Only dairy. We started on a Tuesday morning & you seemed fine. Then the 3 nites of virtually NO SLEEP & a rocky day of babysitting for Gma & Gpa led us to believe maybe we should try a sensitive formula. SO far Similac sensitive seems to be working. At least you are back to doing the one 5 hour sleep stretch.

You are very drooly and constantly chewing on your hands or anything else you can find.

You have become very aware of your sister. You absolutely LOVE her. You follow her every move smiling & laughing when she talks to you.  Sometimes if you  are laying next to her & she's entranced in a show you try & get her attention by rolling on your side, cooing at her.

Still wearing size 2 diapers. We are about to get back into cloth after a long hiatus. My favorite cloth diaper store stopped carrying our Rockin Green detergent. After learning you can use Original Tide Powder we are ready to start again. wearing 6 month clothes. Drinking  3-6 ozs per bottle feeding.

Just Because

Today at nap time you let me hold you. For two hours it was just us, the solid weight of my perfect little boy nestled in the crook of my arm. I watched & held you, making sure I wasn't wishing away this moment by thinking of all the other things I had to do. I know all too well, very soon these moments will be fleeting. You will be too busy exploring the world, breathing in all that is new, to snuggle with mom.   So thank you for today my sweet boy,  I will cherish it always...

Wesley Crush: 4 months

To my beautiful boy...

This month you found your voice... For a moment I worried your sister was going to drown you out. Not anymore!!! You have two super sonic cries. One sounds like a screeching cat, the other could literally burst an eardrum. These are saved for special occasions like being over tired or being extra hungry.
My most favorite time with you is 1st thing in the morning. As I unswaddle you I'm greeted with the sweetest smiles and coos. You wave your chubby arms and share joy through your eyes. It's the perfect moment.
You are not rolling over quite yet but often I'll  find you on your side.
I snuck away to Chicago, just for one day & you were fantastic for Daddy:)
You're wearing 6 month clothes and drinking anywhere from 3-5oz per bottle feeding.  Sleeping from 5-8 hrs /nite. In bed between 7p-8pm.
The 4 month check up is not until the 25th so i have no clue how much you weigh.
Can anyone guess in which picture daddy dressed Crush?? lol

  

Last but not least, a serenade for Crush by a very hoarse (from screaming of course!) Mia Isabelle.. "Ring around the rosy, pocket full of posies. Ashes, ashes, we all baby brother down!!!"
