A Hard Day's Night

Last week was a really hard parenting week. Hard like OMG, why did I have kids, kind of hard. On Sunday Mia woke up w really terrible body aches and a fever. At one point the fever was 102.5 in her armpit. She cried & cried, trembled w the chills & was miserable until Tuesday. That was the easy part. By Tuesday she was fever free but I swear you would have thought the devil himself possessed her. If you asked her to do anything or told her no she went BALLISTIC, screaming bloody murder. Bedtime was a nightmarish ordeal that involved her screaming for hours, waking up in the wee hours and screaming some more. Then she decided torturing us at night wasn't enough & delivered her worst tantrum ever Thursday morning. I ended up taking her to Nana's with no breakfast, no socks & no shoes. It was ugly. Damon & I are literally falling over exhausted physically & emotionally. She finally seems a little better this weekend although she was up 4 times last night screaming w a stuffy nose.

For the last 6 months bedtime has been a struggle anyway. This Huff Post article pretty much sums up our evenings if you add # 101, blood curdling shrieks. Funny but not so funny. Any tips or tricks you use to get your toddler to go to bed willingly & quietly would be much appreciated!!!!!!  If I recall last year around this time was kind of hellacious too! My poor birthday:(  Maybe we can celebrate this week!!! Pics from Saturday storytime at the library:)
