Today was the PERFECT day to explore one of our favorite local gems. Slate Run is a living, historical farm, meaning people work the garden, raise animals etc. The idea is to create an understanding of farm life in the 1800's. It's free to get in, you can bring a picnic & the pumpkins were a $1!!!! HEAVEN. Except when they slaughtered a live chicken & prepped her for dinner... I avoided that demonstration. The kids love using the pump to water the garden and get up close with the animals including a 2 week old calf, piglets & huge draft horses just waiting for attention. We were missing Daddy since he was working but thanks so much to my besties for snapping lots of pics so he could see our day.
Other visits to Slate Run here & here.
