Yesterday, Damon & I met for his fist real venture from the house since his sinus surgery. We took in the beautiful weather by having lunch at Rusty Bucket & hanging out in the cute New Albany town center. Starbucks, ice cream, boutique window shopping& a quick stop into the library. In the tiny boutique we saw the cutest stuffed animals, BUT experienced sticker shock at the $45 price tag. That's what you get when there is "boutique" in the stores name. The dedicated shopper I am, as we left the store I googled Deglingos Toys. To my delight I discovered that they are FRENCH & can be purchased cheaper online thru Amazon or even, dare I say, Walmart??? This brings me to a dilemma that circulates in my head quite often. I LOVE TO SHOP. Browsing thru stores finding crazy good deals is my hobby. I do NOT shop online. As I see more & more store fronts closing every day I wonder, one day will there be NO stores left to shop in?? I think I heard Barnes & Noble is going under b/c you can get such good deals on Amazon:( See my dilemma? This shop crazy mama needs to watch her pocket book BUT wants to support her local community as well? Thoughts? Back to the Deglingo's, the price difference between the boutique & online? $15-$20.. WOW

Come on, Liz. It's not YOUR responsibility to 'support' over-priced stores. We are in a recession. It's ok to shop at walmart and amazon. You can use your swagbucks to 'buy' amazon gift certificates and double the deal!!
