Last year for the big 60, I took my dad to San Diego for a Father-Daughter weekend. We stayed at an awesome boutique hotel in the Gaslamp district. We ate Indian food, went to Sea World, saw a rockin reggae band and explored Coronado Island.
This year for his 61st birthday....... a Hannah Montana dress up kit complete with sparkly shirt & microphone.
WHAT THE HE%$??This year my mom hosted the party & wanted to collect toys for the children of their church!! She is such a sweetheart. She bribed everyone who came to the party by stuffing us with yummy Coq au Vin, quiche, carrot cake & wine (pomegranate lemonade for the non-drinkers), all for the low, low price of one Hannah Montana dress up kit. Totally worth it!!!!
On a spiritual note:
The karmic kickback I got for taking my dad to San Diego was immediate!! My friend Nancy lives in the area so we met for dinner & drinks. 
We had an awesome time laughing, consuming large quantities of champagne AND running into to Jared Padalecki (I called Brandi at 4am screaming)!!!!!!!!!!!
In case you don't know he was on 5 seasons of the Gilmore Girls (LOVE IT) & now on Supernatural (DITTO).
