Barnes & Noble

I love our trips to browse through the books and magazines at Barnes & Noble. We usually get yummy snack from Starbucks. I always learn so much from these trips.

1. The happier side of the brain is the left side. So give your lover kisses on his Right side and he will enjoy them even more b/c they will be processed by the HAPPY side of his brain.
2. Virgos do not usually react well to prescription medication (this has proven SO true for D). They do much better with homeopathic remedies.

We each came home with a book from the $5 bin.

Delicious Lamb

I can say with conviction this Spice Rubbed Lamb recipe from BHG.com is by far the tastiest creation i have attempted yet!!! Not only DELICIOUS, but super fast and EASY to make!!!

1 tsp. finely shredded orange peel
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp. ground cumin
1/8 tsp. salt
8 lamb rib chops, cut 1 inch thick (1-3/4 pounds total), frenched if desired
2 tsp. olive oil
1 medium carrot, halved lengthwise and sliced
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup water
1 14.5-oz. can diced tomatoes
3/4 cup canned chickpeas (garbanzo beans), rinsed and drained
1/2 cup whole-wheat couscous
1/4 cup snipped fresh Italian (flat-leaf) parsley
Orange wedges
Directions
1. In a bowl combine orange peel, cinnamon, cumin, and salt. Trim fat from lamb chops. Rub orange peel mixture over both sides of chops. In 12-inch nonstick skillet heat oil over medium-high heat. Add lamb chops. Reduce heat to medium. Cook for 9 to 11 minutes for medium doneness (160 degrees F), turning halfway through. Remove from skillet. Keep warm.
2. Add carrots and onion to skillet; cook and stir 3 minutes. Slowly add water; undrained tomatoes, and chickpeas. Bring to boiling; stir in couscous. Top with chops. Remove from heat. Let stand 5 minutes.
3. Transfer lamb chops to platter. Fluff couscous with fork. Serve with lamb chops. Sprinkle couscous with parsley. Serve with orange wedges. Makes 4 servings

IKEA Therapy

So you remember THIS project? After painting the walls a lovely shade of menthe, it was time to organize..
Here it is..EEEEK.
Apologies to any Virgos who may see this and keel over dead. I can not go any further with said organization until I get to Ikea for a few important items.

The Expedit bookcase is a must in pretty much every room!! Thankfully, Damon is forgoing sleep and we are heading to West Chester BRIGHT & EARLY tomorrow.

little things..

i love my husband more today then yesterday.
the reason is tiny, simple but it makes me smile every time he does it.
whenever he makes the bed he always pulls the cord to my cell charger up thru the slats.
that way i don't have to kneel under the bed to grab it.
every time i come home and go to charge my dying cell, i smile at his thoughtfulness.

thank you sweetie. i love you!

Although I (and EVERYONE else)FELT the strain and stress of the terrible economic crisis we faced this year, 2009 was still amazing. I treasure this blog because I can look back and be reminded of the little (and Big) moments that I am so lucky to have everyday. I can't wait for 2010 and every year after with my new husband, awesome family and wonderful friends!!!
