polar opposites

So my sweetie let me turn couch commando tonite. I immediately turned it to Dancing with the Stars. For the next two hours it was a sea of sparkly sequins, candy colored eye shadow, twists, bounces, kicks, and oh soooo many more girly pleasures. During commercial breaks i tried to practice my tango with damon but shag kept trying to bite my butt.

With only a few minutes left, a DVR notice popped up... If you do not change the channel now AX MEN will not tape. Ax Men??? Holy Epiphany!!! From tiny, bubbly, blue eye- shawdowed Shawn Johnson to Ax Men?

scrapapolooza

This weekend ROCKED!! On Friday I headed to Hocking hills for 48 hours of uninterrupted,scrapping good times. My horoscope for the day said to splurge so I went to the scrapping store & treated myself to some cute MM embellishments & yummy AC cardstock. I also hit Barnes & Noble to spend my Bday gift card (Thanks Jan & Chris)!!

I worked on 5 pages, which is def a record for me. I used my sewing machine, the cuttlebug, the cricut. I used the old SEI line Winnie's Walls.

Little did i know that there would also be uninterrupted consumption of cakeballs, cupcakes, york peppermint patties, carmel corn, chili, chips. Heaven!!! Thank you Robin & all the CRAZY FUN scrapping ladies for letting me hang! You taught me about TEQUILA (no we didn't drink, LISTEN!) & the no-good, white trash ho.

Go Jackets!!!!

Very last minute i scored (a guy just walked up to me at a marketing event & asked if i wanted them!!! SWEET!) some AWESOME CBJ tickets for the game last nite. So d & i got to see the Jackets crush the Calgary Flames 5-0 amidst LOTS of fists flying, noses crunching, & helmets getting torn off. It rocked!!! This is the FIRST time we have been in attendance for a game where the not only did they win but they scored 5 goals. YIPPPEEE.

Yeah for the Steve Mason(goalie/possible rookie of the year) & the rockin' Rick Nash!! i heart Stinger!

Torture

Going to the dentist is the WORST torture of my life. I HATE IT.

the 29th

year of Bon Bon BEGAN today. Amidst a slew of peeps, cadbury eggs, flowers, a new cut & color AND the best cake EVER (Mrs. Goodman's) i'm ringing in my birthday. Due to a horrific cold that has caused 716 sneezes in just three days i am going to snuggle deep into my couch & watch the 4th season of Grey's Anatomy on DVD tonite.

That way when the limo (yep i said limo) pulls up tomorrow to take me & my BESTIES to the new dueling piano bar downtown, i will be ready!!!

While in Ireland we learned one very important lesson. St. Patty's day is REALLY about two things. As much craic as possible, accompanied by as much Guinness as possible.

dinner tonite

Grilled Mahi Mahi covered in avocado salsa served with yellow squash & zucchini seasoned with lemon pepper salt (Brandi taught me that!) & garlic basil couscous heated with gorgonzola. BECAUSE everything is better with cheese!!!

4 (six to eight-ounce each) Mahi-Mahi fillets
1 tablespoon olive oil, for brushing

Avocado Salsa (that's my ACTUAL salsa YUMYUM!!)

2 cups perfectly ripe avocado, peeled and diced into 1/4 inch cubes
1/2 cup red onion, finely diced
1 cup tomatoes, peeled and seeded
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/2 cup cilantro leaves, finely chopped
Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Method
Preheat grill to high heat. Brush the fish fillets with olive oil and let sit for 10 minutes. Meanwhile, make the salsa (see below). Grill fish for 3-4 minutes on each side. To serve, pour 3 tablespoons of salsa on top of the fish. Decorate the serving plate with cilantro leaves.

Avocado Salsa-In a stainless steel bowl, blend all ingredients carefully, so that the avocados are not crushed.

We all have them!!!!! Who doesn't love to hear that they look like someone famous?? One actress in particular, APPARENTLY inspires lizbon like images, causing strangers to tell me i look like her. Is it REALITY? probably not. Do i LOVE hearing it?? YEP!!!!

lost & found

i haven't been to the library in 3 years. i can't believe it has been that long. i grew up taking trips there every weekend with my mom. i would come home with STACKS of goodies. Books about horses, Native American history, astronauts, TONS of Sweet Valley books..on, on, on..

Apparently in recent years i lost my way. No rhyme or reason other then a shift in priorities & time. BUT this week i MADE the time. I got my new library card. When they asked me what color i wanted (pink of course) and handed me the little stub for my key chain i could not stop smiling at the glum looking librarian behind the counter.

So now my status (facebook, myspace, blogger ect.) can happily say currently READING.

i heart peeps

i like Easter, not that i know much about the spiritual side of the holiday. (last Wednesday i did a double take when i saw a guy walking out of Panera with a swastika on his forhead.) i actually JUST really like the CANDY.

Cadbury's are probably the tastiest candy ever. Easter can also lay claim to the CUTEST candy ever, Peeps ( i prefer the pink rabbits--i usually bite their heads off). So i'm wishing you a happy Peepster Season.
